Antitrust Law
Antitrust laws —also referred to as competition laws—are designed to protect competition. They prohibit business behaviour which has the objective or the effect of preventing, restricting or distorting competition (e.g. price fixing and the allocation of markets or customers).
Companies and organisations are subject to far-reaching rules of antitrust law. They have to assess for themselves whether they behave in compliance with antitrust law. The BMI Think Tank offers its members a legally secure basis for the exchange of opinions and experience, while complying with anti-trust law.
Code of Conduct
Seconds values are at the heart of the code of conduct, which defines the standards of ethical conduct required of every Seconds partner and employee.
Events organised by the Seconds, in particular meetings, are not intended to deal with topics that are in breach of antitrust law or to create or promote opportunities for agreements or resolutions that are in breach of antitrust law. Such conduct will not be tolerated.
Seconds employees and parterns are expected to:
- Comply with applicable competition laws and not disturb or hinder legitimate competition in any anticompetitive manner
- Seek legal advice in case of any doubt
- Fully cooperate with the authorities in the event of an investigation
